Gracelynn didn't believe in love, but she was in a rush to get married. So, she signed up on a matchmaking website. Rowan desperately needed a wife but didn't need a family. After just one day, the two of them—each with their own needs—met and hit it off. They believed they would only be gaining a roommate in this loveless union. However, because he was thoughtful and caring toward her, their marriage turned out to be as sweet as honey. Every night, he would lie in bed with a mischievous smile, "Honey, I love you so much. How will you reward me?" Luckily, she met her Mr. Right...
"Are you willing to register your marriage with me tomorrow?"
This was the only requirement Gracelynn Glason had for her blind date.
She wanted to find a man to marry in the shortest time possible.
She didn't care about his appearance, job, or family.
All she wanted was a marriage.
The man sitting opposite her was her eighth blind date.
He looked up, staring at Gracelynn solemnly with his charming eyes.
After a long time, he said in an indifferent tone, "Your requirements are indeed different."
Gracelynn smiled politely. She picked up a cup of coffee and took a sip.
The man in front, Rowan Ford, was introduced by her grandmother.
He seemed to have good conditions in all aspects, but she wouldn't waste her time with him if he couldn't accept her request.
"I would like to say a few words about my status."
The man's voice was husky and pleasant. "I'm divorced, but I have no kids."
"And I'm busy at work all day. I may not have much time to accompany you."
Gracelynn looked at him in perplexity. She wouldn't rule out a divorced man, as she had met several of them before on blind dates.
But she still didn't understand Rowan's attitude toward her request, so she asked directly, "So, will you accept my request?"
Rowan picked up the cup of coffee on the table and took a sip. His carriage was composed and elegant. "If you can accept I'm divorced and swamped, then I'm fine to register my marriage with you."
"But because of my work, I can't make it tomorrow. Also, my family is living in another city, so it will take at least a month for the whole procedure to be done officially. Is that fine for you? Or do you have any other queries?"
Gracelynn was stunned. "Does it mean he agrees to the marriage?"
Rowan's attitude was very serious. She carefully assessed him in front of her, noting his handsome appearance and tall stature.
He had a well-built body shape, and it could be seen that he worked out often.
Gracelynn asked earnestly, "May I know why you divorced your ex-wife? Are you prone to domestic violence?"
"I can assure you that my failed marriage is nothing concerned about domestic violence. It was mainly because I was too busy with my work that I got divorced."
Gracelynn nodded. "Great, I have zero tolerance toward domestic violence. And, I don't mind other than that."
Rowan stared at her and asked composedly, "So, it's a deal?"
Gracelynn nodded seriously. "Yes. Exactly!"
The man in front of her was the most suitable choice.
He was busy and had little time for her. He was not a person with violent behavior, and they had no feelings for each other.
Yes, she agreed with it. She was looking for someone to establish a marriage without feelings. It was rare to meet someone so compatible with her requirement.
"That's good! Do you have anything else to ask?" Rowan asked.
Gracelynn thought for a while. "Well, there is another question. If you cheat, will you divorce immediately?"
She didn't care if he had an affair, but she didn't want to get a divorce after getting married. That would be too troublesome.
Rowan said in a solemn tone, "I won't cheat. Apart from not having much time with you, I can do the rest all right."
Gracelynn nodded. "Okay! Then I don't have any other questions for now."
After that, they spent some time getting to know each other. Rowan was a senior research director of a national research institute, and the details of his work were confidential.
He was thirty-three years old, and his parents were not staying with him, so she had no worries about the conflict with her mother-in-law after getting married.
He had his own house in the center of Allord.
Gracelynn also briefly talked about her situation. Her only request after marriage was that they could take care of her grandmother together, and Rowan agreed with her demand.
As for the wedding, the two of them had reached a common understanding that they would prefer to keep it simple.
"It's a bit late today. Could you come to my house tomorrow morning to meet my grandma?" Gracelynn asked politely.
"I do think that I should visit your grandma before our wedding. I will spare some time to go tomorrow morning." Rowan said sincerely.
It was already 10 o'clock in the night-time when Rowan sent Gracelynn home.
When Gracelynn reached home, her grandmother had already fallen asleep. She washed up gently and lay down on the bed.
She was so tired that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
In her dream, she saw a woman in a long white dress madly slashing a man with a cleaver.
The woman went insane and laughed crazily. She then fixed her eyes on a little girl...
